To my perfect brother – Anna

Look for the meaning of a word
‘Brother’ in a dictionary
You will find my elder brother’s name
The meaning of brother in live form

Took father’s role
After my father passed away
Full filled all our dreams
Even as little ones we had

Remember me asking my dad
A french perfume I liked at a tender age
Dad joked and said why I want it
As I already smelled like a perfume

Still I asked him multiple times
Knowing that we cannot afford
To spend top dollar at that time
For a french perfume I loved

Started to work overseas in middle east
To fulfill eldest son’s role to support dad
That made it even harder for him
After my father passed away abruptly

Remember brother came on a vacation
An year after my dad passed away
Like a santa clause not in size or look
But with all the goodies for his siblings

Was awestruck and amazed
How on earth he even remembered
The perfume I asked dad years ago
Without forgetting he brought it

The happiest day in my life I say till now
Not because of the perfume I received
To see my brother, I missed so much
And the unexpected surprise visit

Did his duties to all his siblings
Not that he had to do what he did
Still he did more and more
Than my parent could have done

Never will I forget the time we had
With our little rented house
After dad passed away
Me running to courts and everywhere

Bought an amazing place for us
We adored and lived happily
After all the dramas we had
Held our heads high with pride and relief

Ever thankful never will I forget
How he played my father’s role
At that age sacrificing his youth life
Taking care of his sisters and brother

Happy that God and parents
Blessed his life with less worries
Will always pray for his health and wealth
Good things to happen for him forever

We all had many hard times
But my brother I tell you now
That I am blessed and lucky
To have you as my elder brother

My love and gratitude to you my brother
Will be there forever and ever
You mean the world to me
Which I never say or show
But it’s in my heart forever till I die
